Celebrating the Top Paralegals in Immigration Law

Celebrating the Top Paralegals in Immigration Law

It’s been a demanding year for immigration law, and the people keeping cases moving have felt every bit of it. For paralegals, each new policy, filing requirement, and unexpected complication added a new layer to an already tough job. We wanted to do something to recognize the people meeting these challenges every day.

In June, that idea became the Heroes Spotlight: Top Paralegals in Immigration Law.

We hoped to collect a few great stories. By the time voting closed on October 30th, we’d received more than 150 nominations and over 11,000 votes! Clearly, we weren’t the only ones ready to celebrate the work paralegals do.

As we read through the nominations, we got a closer look at the people behind the cases, the relationships they build, and the care they bring to their work.

Why paralegals?

Anyone who works in immigration law knows how much a case depends on its paralegal. They’re talking with clients, tracking deadlines and receipts, preparing paperwork, and keeping everyone informed as cases move forward.

Much of that work happens behind the scenes. Even when one case reaches a successful conclusion, there’s another client waiting for an update, another filing to prepare, and another deadline approaching.

And this year has brought additional challenges. Policy changes, fee adjustments, RFEs, and shifting requirements are affecting the entire immigration law community, with much of that work landing on paralegals’ desks.

At eimmigration, we learn a great deal from the paralegals who use our software. Their feedback helps us understand what happens inside a busy immigration practice, where time gets lost, and how we can make their work a little easier. The Heroes Spotlight gave us another opportunity to hear from the people who know their work best: their colleagues.

Meet this year’s honorees

One of the hardest parts of this program was knowing we couldn’t highlight every nominee as an honoree.

But each nomination came with a story (sometimes several!) from people who wanted their colleagues to know how much they mattered. We heard about paralegals who went out of their way to help anxious clients, stepped in when their teams needed them, and brought patience and humor to difficult days.

The votes determined this year’s honorees, but the appreciation behind those nominations extends to everyone the community recognized.

We’re proud to introduce the 2026 Heroes Spotlight honorees.

To everyone who participated, thank you

Whether you nominated someone, received a nomination, or cast a vote, you helped make the first Heroes Spotlight something worth celebrating.

One of our favorite parts of the program was seeing firms rally around their team members. Colleagues shared nominations, encouraged people to vote, and celebrated their paralegals publicly. We were floored by the amount of support we saw shared in the nomination and voting process.

To the nominators: You started it all. You took the time to put someone’s contributions into words and make sure their work was recognized. We hope you’ll share those words with the person you nominated, if you haven’t already.

To the nominees: We hope you know how much your work means to the people around you. Someone thought highly enough of you to sit down and tell us your story. That recognition belongs to you, regardless of the final vote count. We see you and the work you do to hold us all up.

To the voters: You kept the momentum going. Thousands of votes came in over the course of the program, and some of you came back day after day to support your colleagues. Thank you for reading their stories and taking time to show your appreciation.

What we learned

The Heroes Spotlight turned out to be one of the most rewarding ways for us to experience the heart of this community.

We saw how much pride paralegals take in their work, how closely their colleagues depend on them, and how much a little recognition can mean. We heard stories of kindness and dedication that might never have reached beyond the walls of a law firm otherwise.

For our team at eimmigration, those stories are a valuable reminder of why we do what we do. We build tools to make immigration casework easier, giving legal teams more time for the parts of their jobs that require a human: listening to clients, solving problems, and helping people through important moments in their lives.

We’re grateful to everyone who gave us a glimpse inside their world this year. And to every immigration paralegal, whether you took part in the program or not, thank you for the care, patience, and expertise you bring to your work. We hope you feel appreciated today, and throughout the year.

See you in 2027.
